Symptoms and Signs of Heart Attack

The signs of a heart attack can vary from one individual to the next. In every case, a heart attack is an emergency situation and 9-1-1 should be called immediately when symptoms are noticed. Heart attack symptoms can include:

  • Chest pain or pressure that radiates from the center of the chest
  • Upper body discomfort or pain experienced in the arms, left shoulder, back, jaw, stomach or neck
  • Difficulty catching one’s breath
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Excessive, unexpected sweating
  • Indigestion
  • Choking sensation
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Dizzy sensation
  • Weakness
  • Anxiety
  • Racing or irregular heartbeat
