Prevention of Heart Attack

In order to give yourself the best chance of preventing heart attack:

  • Keep high blood pressure under control
  • Eat a diet that’s low in saturated fat
  • Monitor blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels
  • Quit smoking
  • Decrease the amount of stress in your life or acquire stress management skills
  • Limit your alcohol intake
  • Exercise regularly
  • Maintain a healthy weight
  • If diabetic, control your blood sugar at all times
  • Medical management prescribed by your physician to lower the risk of heart attack
