Statistics for Head and Neck Cancer

Statistics of head and neck cancer show that 75 to 85 percent of all head and neck cancer cases are caused by tobacco (smoking and chewing) and alcohol use. Head and neck cancer make up 3 percent of all cancers in the United States and last year alone over 52,000 men and women were diagnosed with cancers of the head and neck. 
Asians are more prone to developing nasopharyngeal cancer, and occupational risks subject people to harmful substances that can cause many types of head and neck cancer.
