Treating Gestational Trophoblastic Disease

If GTD is suspected, diagnostic testing may include a physical exam, pelvic exam, ultrasound, lumbar puncture, blood testing, serum tumor marker testing and urinalysis.

Depending on the type of gestational trophoblastic disease, patients may require different treatments. Treatments may include surgery to remove cancer, hysterectomy, chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
