Gastric Cancer

Symptoms and Signs of Gastric Cancer

Early stomach cancer usually does not cause symptoms, which is especially problematic because advanced-stage gastric cancer is difficult to cure. Symptoms of advanced-stage stomach cancer include abdominal discomfort or pain, blood in stool, bloating, diarrhea or constipation, fatigue, gastrointestinal bleeding, indigestion or heartburn, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, and weight loss. In addition, large stomach tumors may cause pain by pressing on surrounding nerves, and cancers of the stomach may spread to the several vital organs surrounding it, including the pancreas, spleen, liver, lungs and intestine.
