Parent Education Classes

Florida Hospital’s parent education classes are designed to give you and your family the skills and knowledge you need to embark on this new phase of your life with confidence. Our team helps expectant parents understand some of the more important techniques and tips for successful parenting. Classes address topics such as breastfeeding, safe-sitters, bringing baby home, ways to sooth your baby, and infant/pediatric CPR.

The Gift of Motherhood Childbirth Class

This course provides you with need-to-know information about the experience of childbirth, including pregnancy discomfort, what to expect during labor, postpartum care, baby care and much more with a focus on answering the questions that today’s parents are asking. LEARN MORE.


À la Carte Classes

Baby Care Basics 

This one-time class instructs parents, grandparents and adoptive parents on how to care for their baby. LEARN MORE.

Boot Camp For New Dads

Dads will learn the proper techniques for holding, changing and calming their baby and also receive pointers on how to care for expectant moms before, during and after the delivery. LEARN MORE.

Breastfeeding

This class gives you all the information you need to successfully breastfeed your new baby. Learn different techniques and how to overcome some of the common challenges that may occur along the way. LEARN MORE.

Bringing Baby Home

Bringing Baby Home is a workshop for expectant couples, and parents of infants and toddlers, that allows couples to equip themselves with the knowledge and skills needed to cope constructively with the changes brought about by the birth of a child while getting to know one another in their new role as parents. LEARN MORE.

Cesarean Section

This course will be taught by an experienced nurse who will explain the C-section process and what you can expect after surgery. LEARN MORE.

Comfort Measures for Labor and Birth

A certified childbirth educator will teach you and your support person comfort measures and relaxation techniques to help you during your labor and birth. LEARN MORE.

Epidurals

During this one- time class, an anesthesiologist or certified registered nurse anesthetist will describe an epidural and how it is administered while answering any questions you may have. LEARN MORE.

Happiest Baby 

Learn an extraordinary approach to calming your newborn, including step-by-step instructions on how to help babies sleep longer and discover techniques for soothing even the fussiest infant in our Happiest Baby class. LEARN MORE.

Infant & Child CPR 

Learn how to respond quickly and correctly in the event of choking or sudden cardiac arrest in an infant or child. LEARN MORE.

Meet Fido

Taught by professional dog trainers, this class educates new and expectant parents on safe practices for introducing pets and new babies. LEARN MORE.

Safe Sitter

Founded in 1980, SAFE SITTER is a clinically accurate program that teaches boys and girls, ages 11 to 14, how to handle emergencies when caring for young children. LEARN MORE.

Sibling Class

Our sibling class is geared toward a variety of ages and prepares young children for the arrival of their little brother or sister. LEARN MORE.

Transition to Parenthood

The Transition to Parenthood is a class that equips expectant couples, and parents of infants and toddlers, with knowledge and confidence as they learn what to expect after having a baby. LEARN MORE.
