The Sleep Disorder Center at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial

The Florida Hospital Fish Memorial Sleep Disorders Center is the only hospital-based sleep center in West Volusia to earn the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) Accreditation of Sleep Disorders Centers. This achievement serves as an indication to patients and referring physicians that Florida Hospital Fish Memorial is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care.

We all can be apprehensive when we know we must go to the hospital for a test or procedure. That’s why the Florida Hospital Fish Memorial Sleep Disorders Center has designed an atmosphere to rival a 4-star resort. We understand the importance of attending to your every comfort, so we created designer suites to enable you to relax completely, encouraging more accurate and comprehensive results.

About the Sleep Disorders Center

Our Sleep Disorders Center adheres to the guidelines of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. In addition, all testing is supervised by a physician medical director who is board certified in sleep disorders medicine. Our sleep center uses advanced technology that maximizes patient comfort. Using state-of-the-art equipment, our sleep technologists can monitor your individual sleep pattern leading to a comprehensive and accurate diagnosis. Each room includes a small camera with infrared lighting so when observation is necessary the patient can remain sleeping and undisturbed. Our staff will make every effort to see to your comfort while keeping you informed about each procedure. Guided by the motto BEST RISE, we strive to provide Balance, Excellence, Service, Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, Stewardship, for Everyone—every time. Our goal is that you will “rise and shine” after a good night’s sleep.

Types of Sleep Disorders

There are many types of sleep disorders including:

  • Parasomnia—sleepwalking
  • Apnea—periods without breathing
  • Insomnia—fragmented and disrupted sleep
  • Narcolepsy—attacks of excessive sleepiness
  • Restless Legs Syndrome—restless leg sensations

What Are Possible Symptoms?

Be sure to consult with your doctor or make an appointment at our center if:

  • You are sleepy during the day
  • You wake up frequently at night
  • Your partner says you snore loudly
  • Your partner observes that you stop breathing
  • You have difficulty controlling your blood pressure

Support Group

The Sleep Apnea/CPAP Support Group is a free community based support group for people affected by a sleep disorder or anyone with questions about sleep disorders or CPAP.
