Florida Hospital Fish Memorial Volunteers

Florida Hospital Fish Memorial’s Volunteer Services is made up of volunteers who have been an integral part of the hospital since 1994. Volunteers share a common goal of providing aid and comfort to patients and their families. These men and women provide volunteer support and raise funds to benefit the hospital community as a whole.

Volunteers may choose to volunteer the following shifts:
Mornings: 8 am – 12  pm
Afternoons: 12 – 4 pm
Evenings: 4 – 8:00 pm

Volunteer's Purpose

The Volunteer's purpose is threefold:

  • We serve by donating time to assist the hospital staff, patients, customers, and visitors
  • To serve as goodwill ambassadors for the hospital
  • We support each other through the camaraderie present in our shared experiences, in our service areas, over lunch in our garden, in meetings and walking through our facilities. Volunteers come together with the common desire to serve our hospital's mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ. 

Membership

To become an active member of the Florida Hospital Fish Memorial Volunteer Services, you must:

  • Be at least 16 years old
  • Complete an application form and background check
  • Be interviewed by the Volunteer Services
  • Receive comprehensive training
  • Earn a minimum of 60 volunteer hours each year including training, orientation and membership meetings
  • Purchase a Volunteer Service uniform

Meetings and Awards

Florida Hospital Fish Memorial’s Volunteer Services holds meetings each year. Service pins and awards are presented annually to Volunteers for hours of services to the hospital. This is a relaxing, pleasant opportunity to visit with other volunteers and be recognized for your volunteer contributions to the hospital.
