HEATHROW, Fla., December 19, 2013 – On November 4, Florida Hospital Fish Memorial hosted the fifth annual Physicians’ Memorial Golf Classic at Heathrow Country Club.
This shotgun start golf tournament raised more than $30,000 to benefit the Florida Hospital Fish Memorial Cancer Institute in Orange City.
“It was a blustery day at Heathrow, filled with fun and the promise that every dollar raised will directly benefit cancer patients at the Florida Hospital Fish Memorial Cancer Institute,” said John Wanamaker, Florida Hospital Fish Memorial Foundation Board Chair. “We are very grateful for the outpouring of community support to make the 2013 PMG Classic a success.”
More than 70 golfers participated in this annual event. With a score of 55, First Southern Bank was the winning team, comprised of Chad Ibbotson, Jeff Milhausen, Keith Severns and John Wayne. As the winning team, each player received a Taylormade Cart Bag and a custom PMG Classic Crystal Trophy.
Host of nine US Open Qualifiers, the Heathrow Country Club is a Par 71 course that has been offering a spirited challenge to golfers of all skill levels for more than 20 years. Designed by legendary architect Ron Garl, the challenging 18-hole course has tempted a notable collection of PGA Tour players including Chris DiMarco, Cliff Kresge, Danny Ellis, Jim Thorpe, Donnie Hammond, Lion Kim and Fulton Allem – all who are proud to call Heathrow “home.”
