Fibrocystic Breast Disease
Survivability of Fibrocystic Breast Disease
For most patients, the survivability of fibrocystic breast disease is extremely high. It is a benign (noncancerous) condition that may not require surgery. Sometimes, patients who experience symptoms of fibrocystic breast changes may be diagnosed with a more serious condition since the symptoms are similar.
The long-term prognosis for patients with fibrocystic breast disease includes mild treatment if necessary. At menopause, the symptoms should decrease or disappear.
