Total Joint Replacement

The Florida Hospital Orthopaedic Institute at East Orlando is renowned for its progressive medical programs and innovative approaches. In fact, Florida Hospital is known for having one of the top orthopedic programs in the entire country.
We specialize in minimally invasive surgeries designed to reduce our patients’ recovery time and get them back to a normal, pain-free life. In addition, we’re the number one hospital in the nation for Medicare patients seeking knee and hip replacement; we were the first hospital in the state to perform knee replacement and arthroscopic surgery, which is evidence of our continuing commitment to providing the most advanced technologies and procedures; and we’ve been ranked among the top-10 hospitals for knee and hip care by AARP Magazine and as one of the nation’s best orthopedic hospitals by Orthopedic Network News.
The orthopedic physicians at the Florida Hospital Orthopaedic Institute at East Orlando specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the musculoskeletal system. These specialists work with orthopedic physicians throughout our community to provide the highest-quality care for all our patients—including patients who require total joint replacements for their hip, knee or shoulder.
In a total joint replacement, an arthritic or damaged joint is removed and replaced with an artificial joint. This is performed to relieve the sometimes-severe pain caused by damage to the cartilage, the smooth layer that covers the bone ends of the joint and normally allows for near-frictionless, pain-free movement.
At the Florida Hospital Orthopaedic Institute at East Orlando we provide a full continuum of care for patients suffering from joint pain. From our state-of-the-art imaging services to joint-replacement surgery to physical and occupational therapy, we have the expertise and technology to help you every step of the way. Our patients have a dedicated care coordinator whose job it is to help patients navigate the sometimes-confusing world of doctor’s appointment and insurance approvals, acting as your personal advocate throughout the process.
We also offer pre-operative classes for all our surgery patients, to give them a better sense of what to expect. Our post-operative unit has dedicated orthopedic caretakers, including nurses and rehabilitation specialists, whose goal is to help our patients get back on their feet as quickly as possible after surgery.
