Biographical Sketch for Dennis A Borrero, MD
Dr. Borrero is board certified in pediatrics, fellowship trained in pediatric hematology and oncology and has completed advanced training in pediatric bone marrow transplantation. His experience at St. Jude’s Research Hospital, along with a variety of pediatric facilities, including an emergency department and shelter for abused children, has prepared him for the special cases and scenarios chronic illnesses present, including the invaluable multidisciplinary continuum of care.
Dr. Borrero is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and uniquely qualified to join Fouad Hajjar, MD at Children’s Center for Cancer & Blood Diseases to meet the growing needs of Central Florida children and families suffering with a chronic hematologic and oncologic disorder or disease. He remains on the cutting edge of oncology and hematology advancements, and served as an assistant professor in the pediatric department of a major university hospital. His certifications earned, research conducted, memberships held, awards won, medical community services conducted and extensive teaching experience prove his dedication to advance the field of pediatric cancer and blood diseases research and treatment available. Hi special interests include chronic conditions like leukemia, lymphoma, anemia and iron metabolism issues, diseases of the blood, such as sickle cell disease and the affects of transfusions, as well as strokes, tumors and seizures.
