Crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that can result in inflammation and bleeding in the digestive tract.  Crohn’s disease is usually limited to the small intestine, but it can occur in patches at any point along the digestive tract. These patches of thickened bowel wall and diseased lesions occur between areas of healthy bowel tissue. Some patients experience mild or no symptoms, while others have more severe symptoms, including severe pain and diarrhea.
