Cox-Maze Procedure

Treatments Related to Cox-Maze Procedure

The Cox-Maze procedure is one of the three Maze procedures, which also includes the Modified-Maze procedure and the Mini-Maze. Because these procedures require that your surgeon cut through your sternum (breastbone) to expose your heart, they are usually performed in conjunction with another open cardiac procedure, such as a valve replacement or coronary bypass surgery.
