Statistics of Coronary Artery Disease

Not only is coronary artery disease the number one cause of death in the U.S., each year, it kills more people than the next seven causes of death combined. Some 14 million people in the U.S. have coronary artery disease. Of those who die suddenly from coronary artery disease, 50% of male patients and 63% of female patients showed no symptoms prior to a fatal heart attack.
