Prevention of Concussion

There are some steps you can take to reduce your and your children’s risk of suffering a concussion, including: wearing a seat belt in a motor vehicle; using a proper safety seat or booster seat for children; not driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol; wearing a helmet while riding a bicycle or motorcycle, playing contact sports, skiing, horseback riding or snowboarding; and reducing the risk of falls by eliminating clutter in the home, removing slippery area rugs and installing grab bars in the bathroom, especially for older adults.
