Complex Endometrial Hyperplasia

Treatments for Complex Endometrial Hyperplasia

Depending on the type of hyperplasia and the severity of the condition, the recommended treatments for complex endometrial hyperplasia will vary. Simple endometrial hyperplasia can be treated with a progesterone supplement. For the complex cases of endometrial hyperplasia, treatments can include progesterone treatment or surgical treatments.
Progesterone treatments help your body shed the extra uterine lining that has built up in the uterus. If the cells in the lining have abnormal architecture or appearance, a more immediate treatment may be needed.
Surgical treatments for complex endometrial hyperplasia are recommended when cancer risk is high. Doctors may recommend hysterectomy if the patient is finished childbearing. For more severe cases, the doctor may recommend lymphadenectomy.
