Research and Clinical Trials for Chordoma

Research on chordoma investigates many aspects of the condition, in particular how to identify the exact causes of the disorder. Scientists also seek to enhance technology for diagnosis and surgical and radiation treatments, such as the Leskell Gamma Knife© 4C at Florida Hospital that offers effective, non-invasive intervention for chordoma.

Clinical trials on chordoma include studies on genetic causes and the hereditary factors, and new radiation therapy procedures such as proton beam therapy. Although no drugs have yet proven to be effective in treating chardoma, studies continue on chemotherapy in hopes of providing doctors with another tool to manage the disease.
