Welcome to Florida’s Destination Children’s Hospital
Whether you’re across town or across the globe, Florida Hospital for Children offers you and your child the most advanced and skilled care available. To care for your child, we’ve assembled a world-class team of medical specialists who represent 30 different sub-specialties of medicine. Working in close collaboration, they offer a level of coordinated care that is redefining health care in terms of excellence, compassion and outcomes.
Located in Orlando, one of the premier vacation destinations in the world, our hospital brings the delight of Disney® to life in a hospital setting. In the lobby, you’ll be greeted by some very familiar characters and themes, which translate through our entire hospital. From the interactive lighting in each patient room, to the specially themed floors and delightful play areas, all are expertly designed with children and families in mind.
If you are coming from another hospital or were referred to our hospital by your physician, we’ve made the process easy. We can arrange for your child to be transported via our own ambulances or our helicopter, Florida Flight 1.
If you are travelling on your own, our hospital is only a short drive away from Orlando International Airport (14 miles away) or from Orlando Sanford International Airport (16 miles away). Plus, Orlando is centrally located in Florida – a close travel distance from I-75, I-95, Florida’s Turnpike and I-4.
Families will appreciate the many amenities we have at the hospital, which were designed by our Family Advisory Council – a team of veteran parents who have been in your shoes and consult with our designers to make the hospital experience as comfortable as possible. Our waiting areas feature comfy chairs, refrigerators, computer zones, worktables and TVs. Our pediatric inpatient rooms are built for family stay and include full bathrooms with showers. Plus, all of our pediatric patient rooms have comfortable sleepers so you can stay with your child if you wish.
To make the best use of your time, our Children’s Care Coordinator will be happy to work with you to schedule all of your appointments. This will ensure that your time at the hospital is well spent.
If your child’s condition requires a longer stay, you’ll find plenty of choices nearby, 114,000 hotel rooms to be exact. From the Disney® themed hotels at Walt Disney World Resort® to Ronald McDonald House and the Comfort Suites right by the hospital, you’ll easily find accommodations that will meet your family’s needs.
