Minimally Invasive Surgery
More and more, surgeons are utilizing state-of-the-art techniques to perform very precise operations with fewer complications, less pain and reduced recovery times. Using minimally invasive surgery, surgeons are able to perform highly complex procedures through very small incisions, often no more than a half inch long. Using miniaturized instruments and a live magnified video feed, surgeons can get a detailed view of the problem and repair it without having to make large incisions or perform open surgeries. In some cases, these procedures are so non-invasive that the patient can go home the same day and recover there instead of the hospital.
Florida Hospital Celebration Health is leading the way in robotic surgery, giving surgeons unparalleled control and precision through the use of three-dimensional video feeds of the surgical site and the ability to magnify areas of concern. Robotic surgery is just one of the many new innovations being employed by doctors, surgeons, specialists and nurses at the hospital.
In many cases, surgery isn't necessary. This is particularly true in cases of pelvic rehabilitation, pain management and hormone therapy. Continual advances in medicine are allowing patients to benefit from a range of new approaches, which do not require any surgery at all. As a patient, you can take advantage of many of these non-surgical treatments.
In many cases, you don't even have to stay in the hospital to have a procedure done. More and more, procedures that once required a stay in the hospital can be done right in the doctor's office, letting you return home the same day, often within hours of the procedure. These include hysteroscopies, endometrial biopsies and ablations, IUD insertions, urodynamic studies, bladder instillations, pessary fittings, tubal occlusions and removal of minor lesions.
