Catheter Ablation

Side Effects of Catheter Ablation

The side effects of catheter ablation are generally mild if experienced at all and can include:

  • Soreness in the chest
  • Bruising at catheter insertion site
  • Occasional skipped heartbeats

While the above are normal side effects, contact your physician right away if pain or swelling is more severe, if you bleed at the catheter insertion site or if your heart skips beats consistently.
