Our History

Since its founding in the 1970s, the hospital today known as Florida Hospital Carrollwood has prided itself on offering highly personalized, compassionate care to our neighbors in central and north Tampa. Its mission, then and now, is to provide hope and healing in a caring, spiritual environment. The campus housed a church, school and gymnasium; over the years, the church and school buildings have been replaced with additional healthcare facilities, and today the gym is used as an auditorium.

At Florida Hospital Carrollwood, we’re committed to the Adventist Health System mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ to our community. We use integrated, highly advanced processes to heal mind, body and spirit. Our auditorium is today used as the CREATION Health Institute, which is dedicated to providing our neighbors with wellness, reflection and practical tools to enrich their physical, emotional and spiritual lives.

In 2010, our hospital was one of four members of the University Community Health System acquired by Adventist Health System, and the next year, it officially became Florida Hospital Carrollwood. As a member of Adventist Health System, we offer access to the most advanced care available, backed by the experience of the largest Protestant not-for-profit healthcare system in the country.

We provide comprehensive medical, surgical and specialized services, as well as a wide range of radiological procedures and emergency care. Located in the beautiful Carrollwood community of north Tampa, our comfortable 120-bed facility features friendly, compassionate staff members and a serene atmosphere.
