Adventist University of Health Sciences (ADU) is a Seventh-day Adventist institution that specializes in healthcare education. Its location next to Florida Hospital near downtown Orlando gives students access to unparalleled clinical opportunities in physicians' offices, imaging centers, rehabilitation clinics, and Florida Hospital's own world-class facilities.

The University's guiding philosophy, Healthcare as Ministry, is based on the idea that true wellness is not achieved through medical care alone, but through healing relationships that speak to peoples' minds, bodies, and souls. This philosophy is the foundation of each course in our associate, bachelor’s, master's, and online programs.


Adventist University of Health Sciences offers a unique learning environment for our students to become healthcare professionals and is the only school in Orlando that is part of a world-renowned hospital system. Adventist University is a faith-based institution focused on healthcare as ministry and excellence in the classroom.

About Us

Adventist University, located near downtown Orlando, specializes in allied health and nursing education. The University works closely with Florida Hospital to give students the clinical experience that only a major medical center can provide. Florida Hospital, a globally recognized medical center, is the largest of more than 350 health care facilities worldwide that are operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. In addition to the offerings in Orlando, a growing number of programs are available at ADU-Denver, which is located on the campus of Porter Hospital in Denver, Colorado.

The University offers outstanding educational programs. Degree choices include:

Associate of Science degree programs in:

  • Diagnostic medical sonography (general or cardiovascular ultrasound)
  • Occupational therapy assistant
  • Pre-professional studies
  • Radiography

Bachelor’s of Science degree programs in:

  • Biomedical Sciences
  • Health Sciences
  • Nuclear Medicine
  • Nursing

Bachelor’s of Science completion degrees in:

  • Nursing
  • Radiologic sciences
  • Diagnostic medical sonography

Master’s of Science degree programs in:

  • Nurse Anesthesia
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Healthcare Administration (Fall 2013)

General education courses in liberal arts and sciences are also available.

Contributing to academic excellence on-campus is a Learning Resource Center and the Robert Arthur Williams Library, which contains outstanding collections of print and video information in nursing and allied health fields.

Campus ministries are also a vital part of student life. This special dimension provides students with Christian educational experiences that include assembly programs, music, drama, and the camaraderie of Christian friends. Students have access to the Florida Hospital Seventh-day Adventist Church, which is within walking distance of our campus. The church offers weekly services throughout the year.
