Symptoms and Signs of Breast Infection

Depending on the cause of the infection, the symptoms and signs of breast infection can vary. It’s important to seek medical diagnosis to determine how to treat the symptoms.

  • Enlarged or swollen breast on only one side
  • Pain or burning while breastfeeding
  • Breast lump
  • Skin redness in a wedge-shaped pattern

  • Itching skin on the breast
  • Pus or discharge from the nipple
  • Changes in the feeling experienced by the nipple
