Urgent Care Just for Kids – A Big Advantage for Little Patients

POSTED BY: Florida Hospital

An after-hours bonk to the head. A sudden tummy virus sets in right before bed. A scrape that just won’t stop bleeding. A spiked fever or bad sprain that needs some healing.

These are real possibilities that every parent faces.

And when your little one needs tending to in these urgent situations, you might want to rush to the nearest source of medical treatment. But did you know that there are big advantages to bringing your children to an urgent care that specializes in treating kids?

In fact, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that parents should be wary about running to just any urgent care or retail-based clinic. This is because it’s important that children be evaluated and treated by a pediatrician, and in a medical setting that is fully prepared to meet the specific needs of kids.

And this is why Florida Hospital for Children offers two Kids Urgent Care locations across Central Florida with a pediatrician always on-site to help any infant, child, teen or young adult up to 21 years of age get back to health. Both Kids Urgent Care locations are open exclusively after-hours, seven days a week.

Kids Urgent Care locations are also designed with the special needs of kids in mind. With specific equipment, protocols, staff, on site labs and x-rays, treatments and a kid-friendly environment to treat non-life-threatening medical conditions, compassion and excellence meet to put both parents and our smallest patients at ease.
