Bladder Instillations

Related Conditions of Bladder Instillations

Bladder installations are used to treat interstitial cystitis, a painful condition with no known cause or cure that often goes undiagnosed or misdiagnosed for years after symptoms first appear. Doctors primarily focus on treating the condition’s symptoms, which can include chronic pelvic pain, pain during intercourse, frequent urination, urinary discomfort, pain or discomfort in the penis or scrotum (for men), and worsening symptoms around the time of the menstrual period (for women). Stress sometimes intensifies the symptoms of interstitial cystitis, though stress does not cause this condition.
