Our ranking as Florida's #1 hospital by U.S. News & World Report in 2013 is the most recent in a long succession of prestigious awards our staff has received. In 2012 and 2011, U.S. News & World Report ranked Florida Hospital as the #1 hospital in the Orlando metro area and one of the best hospitals in the nation overall. We are also honored to receive national recognition in eight clinical specialties.

The Walt Disney Pavilion at Florida Hospital for Children is the first—and currently the only—hospital in Central Florida to receive Magnet Recognition by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Magnet Recognition is awarded to health care providers exhibiting excellence in nursing care by meeting rigorous criteria for professionalism, teamwork, and practicing the highest standards in patient care. Beacon Nursing Award
In 2010, Florida Hospital Celebration Health’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) was the first in Central Florida to receive the National Beacon Award by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). In 2011, Winter Park Memorial Hospital was awarded the designation to recognize caregivers for their exceptional care and patient outcomes. The Beacon Award recognizes adult critical care, adult progressive care and pediatric critical care units that exemplify nursing innovation, high quality patient outcomes, healthy work environments, commitment to excellence, leadership and organizational ethics.
American Heart Association & American Stroke Association Stroke Awards
Florida Hospital’s Orlando and Altamonte campuses received honors from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for success in implementing excellent care for stroke patients (February 2012)
Quality Oncology Practice Initiative Certification
The Florida Hospital Cancer Institute (FHCI) hematology and oncology practices, Cancer Institute of Florida and Premier Hematology and Oncology, received the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI) certification awarded for exceptional outpatient care. These FHCI practices are the only practices in Central Florida to receive the three-year certification. (2012)
Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology
Florida Hospital Celebration Health has been designated a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology (COEMIG), making it the first hospital in Central Florida to receive this distinction. This recognition is on behalf of the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC). (2013)
American College of Radiology Accreditation
Florida Hospital’s Radiation Oncology Program has been awarded accreditation by the American College of Radiology (ACR), the oldest and most prestigious accrediting organization in the United States. The accreditation is for three years, through July 31, 2016. (2013)

Treating more than 1 million patients each year, The American Hospital Association ranked Florida Hospital first in the country for number of inpatient admissions.
