Adenomyosis

Screening and Tests for Adenomyosis

Screening for adenomyosis usually involves a pelvic exam, which may reveal a soft, slightly enlarged uterus, as well as a uterine mass or tenderness in the uterus. Your doctor may perform an ultrasound exam to determine whether a mass is adenomyosis or another type of uterine tumor. If the ultrasound is inconclusive, your doctor may employ an MRI to make this determination.
