Symptoms and Signs of Achalasia

Achalasia symptoms can include:

  •       Chest pain that worsens after meals
  •       Back, neck or arm pain that worsens after meals
  •       Frequent coughing after meals 
  •       Difficulty swallowing is the most common
  •       Heartburn
  •       Unexplained weight loss
  •       Regurgitation of food

In children, symptoms can also include vomiting food that hasn’t been digested and bad breath.
