How To Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Florida Hospital volunteer! We are pleased that you thought about us!

The following are the steps and requirements for prospective volunteers.

Complete a Volunteer Application or Teen Volunteer Application
Register to attend a two-hour orientation session. (See below for registration information.)

At the end of the orientation session, an appointment for an interview will be scheduled. At the interview, we will discuss your area of service, location, day and time of volunteering, your staff and training contact, your departmental guidelines, and other important issues.

Please bring to the interview:

A completed Volunteer Application
Your Driver's License
Your Social Security Card

You must be at least 15 years of age to volunteer. If you are under 18, please bring to the interview:

A copy of your birth certificate
A completed Teen Volunteer Application (This is a Florida State Law requirement.)

Important information:

Volunteers are asked to give 4 hours a week, or more.
A background check will be done and paid by Florida Hospital for ALL prospective volunteers.
A TB test will be done and paid for by Florida Hospital.
Prospective Emergency Department volunteers will need proof of Hepatitis B vaccine series or will need to begin the series.
Prospective volunteers for Maternal Infant Units, PEDS and Neonatal Units will need proof of vaccinations for Rubella, Rubeola and Chicken Pox. Volunteers that are not immune will be given the vaccine.
