How to Volunteer
We appreciate your interest in becoming a volunteer at Florida Hospital Orlando. And we’re pleased that you want to contribute your time and energies to help us provide the superior care our community has come to expect from our medical center.
The following are the steps and requirements for prospective volunteers:
1. Complete a Volunteer Application or Teen Volunteer Application (15-18 years of age).
2. Register to attend a two-hour orientation session. Session dates and times are below.
Once your orientation session is complete, we will schedule an interview with you. At this interview we will talk about your assigned area, location, day and time of volunteering, your staff and training contact, departmental guidelines and other important issues related to your volunteer role here.
Important information:
• A background check will be done and paid by Florida Hospital Orlando for ALL prospective volunteers.
• A TB test will be done and paid for by Florida Hospital Orlando.
• Prospective Emergency Department volunteers will need proof of Hepatitis B vaccine series or will need to begin the series.
• Prospective volunteers for Maternal Infant Units, PEDS and Neonatal Units will need proof of vaccinations for Rubella, Rubeola and Chicken Pox. Volunteers that are not immune will be given the vaccine.
