Apopka, the second largest city in Orange County, is growing rapidly along with the need for health care services. In an effort to meet those health care needs, Florida Hospital Apopka has broken ground on a 55,000-square foot hospital expansion scheduled for completion by third quarter 2006. The expansion will include a three-story medical office building, a destination entrance and lobby, expanded patient registration, a chapel and healing garden, a café and vending areas, and additional surface parking.
“This expansion will allow Florida Hospital Apopka to serve as a health care destination for northwest Orange County,” said Florida Hospital Apopka Administrator Verbelee Nielsen-Swanson. “The new medical office building will enable us to bring to Apopka additional primary care and specialty physicians, so that we can better meet the needs of our developing community.”
With service to 50,000 patients and their families this year, the expansion project will reposition the Apopka campus and allow the hospital to continue to serve one of the most rapidly growing communities in Central Florida.
