Hospital Quality
It is our hope that you have great experiences at Florida Hospital in your journey towards health and healing. We believe that it is important for you to make informed decisions on your and your family’s health care. Here are some resources that you can reference as you are choosing healthcare services.
The Joint Commission - The Joint Commission has accredited hospitals for more than 50 years and today it accredits approximately 4,250 general, children’s, long term acute, psychiatric, rehabilitation and surgical specialty hospitals, and 358 critical access hospitals, through a separate accreditation program. Approximately 88 percent of the nation's hospitals are currently accredited by The Joint Commission. The Joint Commission's hospital comparisons are based on quality improvement goals being met in 10 "core measure" areas such as pneumonia and heart failure. Learn more at

.
AHCA – The Agency for Health Care Administration is the chief health policy and planning entity for the state of Florida. Their mission is “Better Health Care for All Floridians” and they are responsible for the administration of the Medicaid program, for the licensure and regulation of health facilities and for providing information to Floridians about the quality of the health care they receive in Florida. On their website, you can view performance and outcome data and information on selected medical conditions and procedures. Learn more at

.
Hospital Compare - Hospital Compare was created through the efforts of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Department of Health and Human Services, and other members of the Hospital Quality Alliance: Improving Care Through Information (HQA). Hospital Compare uses quality measures to determine how often hospitals provide recommended care to obtain the best results for most patients. Measures include treatment for a heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, or having surgery. Visit the Hospital Compare website at
