Florida Flight 1
Florida Flight 1 is the Emergency Air-Medical Transport Service of Florida Hospital. It's medical flight crew provides safe, rapid transport of critically ill patients while administering quality emergency intervention en route to health care facilities where definitive care will be administered.
Currently, Florida Flight 1 flies the American Eurocopter EC-145 twin jet turbine helicopter. This German made helicopter represents one of the latest designs in air-medical transport. Combining mobility and speed, the EC-145 offers a climate controlled cabin with ample space for the experienced crew to function in any in-flight medical emergency.
Florida Flight 1 is similar to a mobile intensive care unit and is staffed with the most highly qualified Critical Care Registered Nurses and Respiratory Therapists. Their goal is to insure speedy and safe transport of patients to facilities both within and outside the Florida Hospital system. Some of the advanced technologies used by the Florida Flight 1 team include: cardiac monitoring, emergency medication administration and oxygen support.
