What is the pay rate at Florida Hospital.
It is Florida Hospital s policy to pay a competitive rate comparable to the region. Pay is based upon years of experience and relevant degrees to the position and is determined by the Hiring Manager at time of interview.

What is the status of my application?
When an application is received, qualifications are thoroughly evaluated and then reviewed in relationship to positions available. If we have a position that matchers your qualifications, you will be contacted for an interview. Due to the large numbers of applications we receive, we can not contact individually each applicant if they are not selected for interviews.

Does Florida Hospital offer Weekend only options?
Florida Hospital does offer Weekend Option plans that are full time positions in which an employee only works weekends. However, this type of position is not offered in every department or may have some other requirements regarding additional shifts during the week. Any inquiry regarding Weekend Option plans should be designated on the Preferred Shift portion of the application or discussed with a hiring manager during the interview process.

I have been away from hospital nursing for a while, how do I get back in?
This is evaluated on an individual education need basis. Based upon those educational needs, determination will be made as to if an in-house transition program or an outside refresher course is needed to apply.

Do you offer any training/educational programs?
Florida Hospital offers many different training and educational programs in many different areas within the hospital system. These include clinical programs such as: Graduate Nurse Internship Program, Critical Care Nurse Internship Program, Operating Room Nurse Internship Program, Graduate Practical Nurse Program, Advanced Practical Nurse Program, and various Respiratory Care Internship Programs. Non-clinical programs include the 3 year Management Internship (Accounting, Finance, and Leadership tracts) and Student Summer Business Internship.

Does your health plan cover pre-existing conditions?
Florida Hospital's employee health plan covers preexisting conditions as prescribed by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). In many cases this means that preexisting conditions are not excluded by the plan.

What is Adventist Health Systems?
Adventist Health System (AHS) is part of a tradition that began promoting the benefits of good health more than a century ago. In 1866, the Seventh-day Adventist Church opened its first healthcare center in Battle Creek, Michigan. It was a special place where scientific treatment of disease was combined with education in the prevention of disease, a tradition that continues in Adventist health care today. Around the world, the church operates more than 500 healthcare facilities dedicated to helping people achieve physical, mental and spiritual wholeness. If I worked for an Adventist institution before, will that time be applied to my benefits if I am hired at Florida Hospital?
Credit for time worked in other Adventist institutions is granted for purposes of PDO accrual rate determinations. In addition, service credit earned in other Adventist retirement plans may be eligible for transfer to Florida Hospital's retirement plan.
For example, if you have worked 3 years full time with another Adventist institution, you would come in at the 3-year level of our PDO accrual scale.

Do you offer hire-on-bonuses and/or relocation assistance?
Bonuses, relocation and other incentives are offered to new employees in selected critical need areas of the hospital. All hire-on bonuses, incentives, and relocation reimbursements are awarded at the discretion of the hiring Manager/Director according to the Policy and Procedures set forth by Florida Hospital. Bonuses and other incentives are awarded on an individual cost center (unit/department) basis and are neither hospital wide nor multi-hospital wide. Therefore, dollar amounts awarded or reimbursed are different for each department. Feel free to ask the hiring Manager about any bonuses within their department.

Do you offer on site childcare?
Florida Hospital is pleased to offer child care for employees through the Children's Academy at Loch Haven. Located adjacent to the Orlando campus, the Children s Academy accepts children from 12 weeks to 5 years of age, Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. Before and after school program is also available for children up to age 12. Employee discount of 10% and payroll deduction available.
