Florida
Hospital secure web servers deliver data that is encrypted
using a 128-bit key. This level of data encryption
places special demands on the web browser you use to access
that information.
Web
browsers typically come in two versions, export grade
and domestic grade. These grades are also known as international
(export), and U.S. (domestic). Export grade is limited
to 40-bit encryption. Domestic grade has 128-bit encryption.
To tell what type of browser you have, do the following:
In Netscape Navigator, in the menu click on Help, then
About Navigator (or About Communicator). There will
be a security section of the about page that says "This
version supports International security" or "This
version supports U.S. Security". You will need
U.S. security.
In
Microsoft Internet Explorer, in the menu click on Help,
then About Internet Explorer. On this page, there will
be a line that says "Cipher Strength:" with
either 40-bit, or 128-bit after it. You will need 128-bit.
The
following is a list of web browsers and software that
will work with Florida Hospital secure web servers.
The
icons link to sites where you may download new web browser
software if needed. Florida Hospital suggests that you
download and install the latest version of one of the
following browsers.
Netscape Communicator 4.0 or higher with 128bit encryption
Internet Explorer 4 or higher with 128bit encryption
The
US government has placed strict export laws on software
products with 128bit encryption. You will be prompted
by both Microsoft and Netscape to register before you
will be allowed to initiate a download.
Florida
Hospital assumes no liability for the operation of these
browsers on your system. If you are unfamiliar with your
system requirements or the processes for installation
of browser software, we suggest that you contact a local
computer support professional for assistance.

When
you first get your token, the initial PIN will be communicated
to you. The token will force you to choose a different
PIN before you can use it. To do this, press the orange
ON button. The token will display "ENTER PIN". Enter the
initial PIN. Then it will display "NEW PIN". Choose a
4 to 8 digit number that is different than the initial
PIN and enter it, then push the orange ON button. Then
it will display "CONFIRM". Enter the new PIN again and
push the orange ON button. The token will then display
"COMPLETE" and then display an 8-digit password that you
could use to log in with.
After you receive your token and change the initial PIN,
you may change your PIN at any time. To do this, press
the orange ON button. The token will display "ENTER PIN".
Enter the PIN. The token will display an 8-digit password.
Press the blue MENU button. The token will display "CHANGE
PIN". Press the orange ON button. The token will display
"NEW PIN". Choose a new 4 to 8 digit number and enter

The
passwords that are generated by the token are valid for
approximately 1 minute. Every time you use your token,
the password will be different. The passwords are only
valid for one use, so once you log in with a password,
it is used and cannot be used again.
Every
time you generate a password on the token and then use
it to log in, the system is synchronized with your token.
If you generate 10 passwords on the token without logging
in, the token will get out of synch with the system and
then the passwords will not work. If the token gets out
of synch, please call the Florida Hospital MIS Help Desk
at 407-303-8000 to have it re-synchronized.
The
PIN is only stored in the token and only you know it.
If you enter a wrong PIN, the token will display "ERROR"
and turn itself off. If you try to re-enter the PIN within
30 seconds, the token will display "WAIT" when you push
the orange ON button. Once you wait the required time,
the token will allow you enter the PIN. If you enter the
PIN wrong twice in a row, the token will make you wait
for a minute. If you keep doing this, it will keep doubling
the amount of time that it will force you to wait. If
you forget the PIN, you have to bring the token back to
Florida Hospital MIS to have it reset. If you need to
do this, please call the Florida Hospital MIS Help Desk
at 407-303-8000 to arrange this.
If
you lose your token, you must notify Florida Hospital
MIS. Call the Florida Hospital MIS Help Desk at 407-303-8000
to do this.
The
system will log you out after 20 minutes of inactivity.
If this happens, you will need to sign on again by following
the procedure under Signing on to the Website above.
If
you use AOL or CompuServe to connect to the Internet,
you must use a separate browser from the one that is included
with the service. To do this, connect to the service as
usual, then launch a browser from Windows, outside of
the service application and connect to the Internet from
that browser through the service.
This
service enables you to access restricted data. Like any
other privilege, this access comes with certain responsibilities.
Do not share your token or your PIN with anyone. Remember
that while signed on, your password is like placing your
signature on everything that is done. Always logout when
you are finished.
