Looking at Florida Hospital East Orlando now, it’s hard to believe it was just a 15-bed facility when it opened for business in 1941 as Orlando Osteopathic Hospital. Later it was renamed Orlando General Hospital, joining the Florida Hospital system in 1990. Today, the hospital has 224 beds, including 80 new private patient rooms in the new 200,000 square foot tower.
