Programs and Services

Your 50-bed community hospital sees approximately 16,000 outpatients, 25,500 emergency patients and over 1,000 inpatients annually. With comprehensive programs and services, Florida Hospital Apopka provides:

  • Cardiology Services—24 hour cardiac emergency services with the latest lifesaving technology. Other services available on an inpatient and outpatient basis include:

    » Access to Florida Flight I Helicopter Transport.

    » Treadmill Stress Testing

    » Serum markers-blood studies designed to look at the function of the heart and to recognize early cardiac problems

    » Echocardiography-a non-invasive examination using ultrasound to visualize the heart

    » External cardiac pacing-temporary pacemakers to correct irregular heartbeats

    » Cardiac services are supported by Florida Hospital, which treat more complex cardiac patients annually than any other hospital in the country.*

  • Community Education—We offer a wide variety of community education programs. Programs are held regularly in the hospital's conference room, and feature physicians and health care professionals who are experts in their particular field.

  • Critical Care Services—Critically ill patients receive intensive and cardiac care from Florida Hospital Apopka's health care team. These professionals have access to the latest cardiac monitoring equipment.

  • Emergency Services—Our Emergency Department treats over 2,000 patients each month. Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped with the latest technology, including streptokinase infusion—a lifesaving procedure. In addition, department physicians and nursing personnel are also trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Patients who require minor care can access service quickly and efficiently through Express Care.

  • Endoscopy—Our In-and outpatient Endoscopy department provides convenient, economical procedures in a safe environment. Endoscopic procedures use light, flexible instrument called an endoscope to examine the esophagus, stomach, portions of the intestine and other organs.

  • Hearing Center—A full range of diagnostic and rehabilitative services are available for pediatric and adult patients. Services include hearing testing, tympanograms, Central Auditory Processing Disorders testing, hearing aid evaluations, and Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing. The Center also offers digital and programmable hearing aids, as well as the first disposable hearing aid -the Songbird- for individuals with mild to moderate hearing loss.

  • Medical Care—Our dedicated nursing staff provides medical care (including intensive and progressive care) which focuses on the total needs of each patient.

  • Outpatient Services—We offer a wide range of outpatient services including mammography, audiology, outpatient endoscopy, cardiac testing, laboratory, radiology services and physical therapy.

  • Radiology Services—Our radiology team uses the latest high-tech equipment - such as the new GE CT HiSpeed ZX/I scanner, HDI 5000 Ultrasound System, fluoroscopy, general diagnostic procedures and a picture Archiving Communication System (a system which enables hospital personnel to transmit X-ray images to any Florida Hospital facility, allowing immediate feedback from a radiologist 24 hours a day).

  • Rehabilitation Services—The 2,400-square-foot outpatient rehabilitation facility provides a range of programs and services including physical therapy, orthopedics, sports medicine, industrial medicine, wound care and wellness. The center's team of highly trained physical therapists and exercise physiologists educate patients, equipping them with the knowledge and ability to prevent further musculoskeletal injuries. We are fully accredited by the commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.

  • Respiratory Services—Respiratory team members care for inpatients, emergency patients and outpatients. In addition, they work with nursing personnel and physicians to care for cardiac and critically ill patients.


  • Women's Medicine—Women's services are available including mammography, educational classes and support groups, heart check for women, women's health risk appraisals and other screening tests.
